While Egypt has generally supported the Libyan National Army (LNA), recent actions by al-Rajma have conflicted with Egyptian priorities, e.g. the LNA entertaining the idea of a Mediterranean oil exploration deal with Turkey and the removal of Sudanese Army forces from the Egypt-Libya-Sudan border triangle.
With tensions rising and a war of words escalating between the Libyan and Sudanese armies, Egypt has stepped inโseeking to defuse the situation through diplomacy and prevent further deterioration between its two allies.
