U.S. Senior Advisor Massad Boulos recently held a meeting in Italy with Libyan National Army (LNA) Deputy Commander Saddam Haftar, as well as Ibrahim Dabaiba, cousin of Government of National Unity (GNU) Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba.

It is the first trilateral meeting between the three men, and took place as the Libyan capital Tripoli faces increased tensions between pro- and anti-Dabaiba forces.

Sources with knowledge of the meeting told The Geopolitical Desk that the three men discussed ways of reducing tensions in Tripoli in order to avoid an all out war, while Boulos continued to push for a unified budget between the GNU and Government of National Stability (GNS).
