Government of National Unity (GNU) Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba is hiring Western PR firms to try and soften his image as his government continues to face internal and external crises. 

As the GNU continues to face growing international pressure to step down, and is stuck in a fragile ceasefire in the capital, Tripoli, Dabaiba is resorting to his old game of political theatre to stay relevant.

However, Libya’s very real political, economic, and social problems are becoming unmanageable, meaning Dabaiba’s normal political tricks will not be able to stop an eventual national crisis. 

A “news” email

On September 13th, international political and media figures associated with Libya received a “statement” from the GNU, written by the London-based public relations firm Whitehouse Communications.
