🌍 Who is The Geopolitical Desk for?

Our platform is designed for diplomats, business leaders, policymakers, researchers, and risk professionals who need trusted insight into politically complex environments. We currently serve clients in energy, government, finance, humanitarian aid, and international security.

If you're a casual reader, we still offer a free newsletter that provides insights into some of the most important geopolitical issues of our times.

The Geopolitical Desk is an independent media and business intelligence platform that provides actionable analysis on some of the world’s most complex regions.

We prioritize local knowledge and field-based expertise. All our reporting is built on firsthand access and human intelligence, for an audience of intelligent humans.

We are not an open-source data aggregator, an automated AI newsletter or a home for recycled headlines. Unlike aggregators or opinion outlets, our briefings are built on direct access to local actors and deep contextual knowledge.

Every briefing or article we share is built on 40+ hours of primary research each week conducted by an expert team that spans cities like Washington D.C., London, Paris, Dubai, Barcelona, Tripoli and Tunis.

🌐 What is a “Desk”?

A Desk is a focused stream of reporting and analysis built around a specific country, region, or sector. For example, our Libya Desk covers politics, security, and society in Libya. You can think of it like subscribing to your own intelligence unit for that topic.

🗺️ What if the country or region I want isn’t covered yet?

We are actively expanding our coverage across emerging and frontier markets, especially in the Middle East, North Africa, the Sahel and Central Africa.

If you're looking for a country we don’t yet offer, get in touch: we may be able to activate early access or provide a tailored solution.

📝 How do I subscribe?

You can choose a subscription plan by visiting our Membership Page. Plans range from free to full access, including multiple user licences and customizable features for Enterprise users.

💳 How do paid subscriptions work?

We offer both monthly and annual subscriptions. Once you subscribe, your access begins immediately. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled, and you retain access through the end of your billing cycle.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by logging in and visiting your account settings.

Please note: given the confidential nature of our content, we do not offer pro-rata refunds unless in cases of technical error or extenuating circumstances.

📄 Do you offer one-off reports?

Yes. Our team regularly produces country profiles, sector deep dives, and investor briefings. Some reports are available instantly, while others are custom-built within 2 weeks.

🔎 Do you offer custom research or private briefings?

Yes. We work with select clients on bespoke analysis, scenario planning, and closed-door briefings. Get in touch to discuss your needs.

🔐 How do I sign in?

Go to thegeopoliticaldesk.com and click “Sign In.” Enter the email you used to subscribe. We’ll send you a secure, one-time login link that you can use to access your account and browse all the content included in your subscription.

If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder or try logging in again. If you're still having issues, please contact us.

🔑 Can I use a username and password instead?

Currently, we only use secure login links tied to your email address. This is more secure than traditional passwords, and we never store your login credentials.

📬 Can I unsubscribe from the free newsletters?

Yes. You can unsubscribe anytime using the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email we send you.

Alternatively, you can log into your account, click "Account," and under "Email Preferences," manage your subscriptions or unsubscribe from all emails.

❌ How do I cancel my paid membership?

You can cancel anytime by:

  1. Logging in to your account
  2. Navigating to the “Account” section
  3. Clicking “Change” next to your subscription
  4. Scrolling down and selecting “Cancel Subscription”

You will retain access for the full period you’ve already paid for.

🔁 Do subscriptions auto-renew?

Yes. All plans auto-renew by default at the full monthly or annual rate (minus any applicable discounts). You’ll receive a reminder before your paid subscription renews.

You can cancel or switch plans anytime from your account settings.

🔄 Can I switch between monthly and annual subscriptions?

Yes. Upgrading from monthly to annual starts your annual access immediately (any unused days from the monthly cycle are forfeited). If you're switching from annual to monthly, your plan will renew monthly after your current annual period ends.

🏢 Do you offer group or institutional subscriptions?

Yes. Our Enterprise plan is designed for multi-user teams. It includes special reports, custom invoicing, analytics, optional private briefings, and customizable access by department or region.

We work with embassies, corporations, INGOs, and multilateral organizations. To set up group access or enterprise licensing, please contact us.

🎁 Can I give a GPD subscription as a gift?

Not yet — but we’re working on it. For now, please contact us if you'd like to arrange access for someone else.

🏷️ Do you offer discounts?

Yes, we offer discounted pricing for qualifying organisations, including universities, local NGOs, reporters, and more. Please contact us to request a discount.
