In early July, an uncontrolled blowout at the oil well C3/1 located in the Atshan oil field, which is operated by the Zallaf Libya Company for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, resulted in a complete halt to operations.

This incident was caused by ongoing drilling and testing conducted by the Fayad Barqen 1 rig, which was shut down following the accident. Within 24 hours, the NOC’s teams had regained control over the well. Despite this disruption, Libya's oil output has climbed to 1,276,344 barrels per day as of July 19, according to the latest NOC data. This increase aligns with the NOC's strategy to boost production through the revival and maintenance of old wells and the development of marginal wells.

As a reminder, the Arabian Gulf Oil Corporation (AGOCO) has returned its well C-335 to production in early July, bringing 2,500 barrels per day of additional oil output. The well, located in the Sarir oil field, was brought back to production following maintenance as it had been closed since 2022 due to the loss of equipment at the site. Harouge Oil Operations Company also brought back oil well AA-10 in the al-Fregh field of the Amal concession in early July, bringing initial output to 1,600 barrels per day. This output will be increased after the completion of all works at the well.
